What is the difference?

Our websites do in fact have two privacy aspects:

The first is the private section on each and every personal wedding website. This section pops up only when you as owner log in with your username and password. You’ll see on the menu that this section gives you access to:

• Functions such as loading photos and text;

and
• Personal pages which is kept private from your guests eyes, i.e. your guests cannot read these pages. They include your Diary, Notes, Guest List & RSVP pages. Here you can write anything in total privacy. Only those with your password can read along … nice for you or for both you and your fiancée!

These private pages are automatically included in the pricing, and no further fees are required.

The second privacy aspect is about whether the search engines can find your website or not. Our websites are generally publicly hosted: this means they are searchable by search engines such as Google, Ask.com and Yahoo. For most of us this is just fine because it means that friends who’ve lost your exact address can find you by entering both your names and one or two extra search terms such as ‘wedding’, your wedding date and/or wedding venue.

Some high-profile clients may want to avoid public attention, keeping their website accessible only for them and their guests. Their websites are then stored on a private network where search engines are not allowed. Joe Public won’t find them by googling their names and other known detail with any of the search engines.

How do we get Privacy on our personal wedding website?M

You request it when subscribing: just tick the appropriate box on the subscription form. Privacy Option 1 is activated automatically from our side. Please note that this option costs extra; we only activate privacy if advance payment is made.

If you tick Privacy Option 2 we will contact you for further arrangements. This option is only activated once advance payment is made.

We want to renew our private website. Do we have to pay again for our Privacy Option? No. Privacy fees are always once-off. You pay once, and it is there for as long as you keep your website.

We want to keep our wedding info private initially. We’ll share it with our friends when we are ready, say a week or two before our wedding date. Can we change our privacy option? Yes, you can. But note that you can have your privacy option removed but that you cannot have it added later on.

Once again: You can move from private to public but not from public to private (you can, in fact, but then the detail on your website will already have been searched by Google’s bots and some info will remain available)

Another option (free!) would be to simply not tell your guests about your personal wedding website till you’re ready to share the address with them. But if they suspect you are doing a website, they’ll be able to google you.

Can our guests still see our private personal wedding website?

Yes, but only if they have your OurWeddingPage.co.za address.

If we choose a private website how will our guests find us on the Internet?

They’ll need your exact address. They’ll only find you by typing in your address in at the top of Internet Explorer.

If you don’t give your address to them they cannot find you!

We want an exclusive personal wedding website designed for us. Does this include privacy? Exclusive personal wedding website designs and privacy are separate add-on options. You can have either one, or both.

This means you can have an exclusively designed personal wedding website with or without privacy.

Do we get a unique OurWeddingPage.co.za address, or are we part of your website?

Every couple gets their own separate wedding website with their own address. Your guests do not first enter wwwOurWeddingPage.co.za and then get transferred to your website. They go directly to your address.

We do no advertising to you or to your guests, and we never will. (That is why it is not free!) We also consider your address as a private matter and do not divulge the addresses of our clients to anyone.

This applies to all our clients: premiums, privates and exclusives. Even if you did not choose a privacy option we will still treat your address as private matter.
